PCDC Workshop and Company Audition
Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC) has been a powerhouse of energetic and evocative dance since its inception in 1984, when it was founded by Artistic Director Igal Perry. Performing repertory by notable choreographers, the company astounds audiences with its physical strength and mature artistry.
Returning from a recent international tour to Invito Alla Danza and Florence Dance Festival in Italy, as well as Karmiel Dance Festival in Israel, PCDC has announced a Company Workshop running Monday–Friday, August 26-30 and a open Company Audition set for Saturday, August 31.
For the Workshop, which will be led by Artistic Director Igal Perry, fees are $22 for a single class or $99 for the full workshop. Drop-in students are allowed but registration for the full workshop is highly encouraged.
For students who pre-register for the Workshop in full, they will be able to take Igal Perry’s 10 a.m. daily ballet class for the professional rate of $16 per class.
Following the Workshop, PCDC will conduct an open Company Audition on Saturday, August 31. A $20 audition fee must be paid the day-of, or $10 if participating in full Workshop.
Auditioning dancers must have excellent ballet and contemporary technique, versatility, musicality and stage presence. Interested dancers should e-mail their resume, headshot and a dance photo to firstname.lastname@example.org with “PCDC AUDITION” as the subject line.
Company rehearsals are paid hourly and performances are paid per performance. Contracts will be offered for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014.
The audition schedule has Group A auditioning from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Group B from12:15 to 1:45 p.m. After emailing the company, PCDC will let applicants know if they’re in Group A or B.
