Texas dance concert fights cancer

Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Company in TexasOn Sunday, June 1 at 7 p.m., Arlington Classical Ballet Academy will present Dancer’s Against Cancer, a dance concert to benefit the Academy’s former owner, Mike Young, who is battling cancer. Young was diagnosed in October 2013 with bladder and prostate cancer, and now, through the generosity and care of his dancers, this benefit will help support his medical bills and doctor fees.

 

In addition to performances by Academy students, many professional ensembles will be featured at the concert, including Avant Chamber Ballet, imPULSE Dance Project, Dallas Neo Classical Ballet, Gaudium Dance Movement, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance and other surprise guests.

 

In addition to the main stage performance, the event will feature a silent auction and have hors d’oeuvres for guests starting at 6 p.m.

 

The event will be held at W. E Scott Theatre, located at 3505 West Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth. Tickets cost between $25 and $40. To book tickets or make a donation, visit ticketstothecity.com.
