VIBE Dance Workshop to return in 2014!

2014 VIBE Dance Workshop in AtlantaVIBE Dance Workshop is returning to Atlanta next summer after kicking off its inaugural season this year. The workshop, led by co-directors Tara Shepard Myers and Emily Yewell-Volin, provides concentrated contemporary, jazz, technique and hip-hop study taught by current industry professionals.

Held at the Dance Studio at Emory University’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, VIBE Dance Workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for five days. The first session for 9 to 12 year olds will be offered June 16-20. The second session for ages 13 and up will be offered June 23-27.

VIBE Dance Workshop was founded last year when Myers and Yewell-Volin noticed an Atlanta-area need for concentrated dance study taught alongside top-quality technique and placement classes. Their combined professional backgrounds provide the necessary vision to focus on training students in current dance trends while honing the versatility and marketability of every registrant.

Amongst others, last year’s faculty included Joshua Blake Carter, an Atlanta native who currently performs with Giordano Dance Chicago and serves as director to GDC’s second company, Giordano II, and Rachel Erin Truitt, a freelance dancer who is artistic director of Gotta Dance Contemporary Company and is dancing and choreographing for The Movement and INduztry talent agency. The complete faculty for the 2014 workshops will be announced soon.

The tuition for a workshop is $500, with $250 being needed at time of registration. For registration after May 1, participants will have to pay $600 total. Registration for VIBE 2014 is now open. For more information or to register, visit www.vibedanceworkshop.com
