Benefit for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America

“DANCERS DEMAND ACTION,” a dance performance aligning art with activism, will take place at The Joyce Theater on November 11 at 7:30pm. The show is a collaboration between nine New York-based dance companies who are volunteering their time and creative energies to enable a portion of the proceeds to support Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a partner organization of Everytown for Gun Safety.

The Martha Hill Dance Fund have announced its 2019 Gala which will take place on Monday November 25th. This year the Lifetime Achievement Award recipients are Carolyn Adams, Stuart Hodes and Betty Jones and the 2019 Mid-Career Award recipients are Seán Curran and Nigel Campbell & Chanel DaSilva. The festivities will take place Monday November 25 at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 Fifth Avenue.

Shanghai Ballet comes to the David H. Koch Theater with it's Grand Swan Lake

Shanghai Ballet comes to the David H. Koch Theater with its internationally prominent and critically acclaimed Grand Swan Lake. With 48 swans on stage, the production was directed and staged by Derek Deane, formerly the Artistic Director of English National Ballet and currently Artistic Director of Shanghai Ballet with his team. The show toured to Netherlands and Belgium from December to January of 2015/16 and August to October 2017 with respectively 26 and 40 successful performances.

In celebration of 75 years of the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library, From the Horse’s Mouth will dedicate its next theater/dance performance event to the history of this storied institution and the establishment of its international dance archive. Rare film footage, videos and multimedia will enhance this edition of From the Horse’s Mouth and its unique blend of movement and storytelling. The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City’s premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, have announced the complete list of 2019 award recipients at the 35th annual Bessie Awards. American Ballet Theatre dancer Duncan Lyle to present two world premieres alongside two revivals at Martha Graham Studio Theater on November 18 and 19, 2019. In collaboration with the renowned Denver ballet company Wonderbound, the Boulder-based alt-country band Gasoline Lollipops is thrilled to announce "The Sandman," based on the songs of GasPops frontman Clay Rose. "The Sandman" will debut in Denver and Parker in February 2020, and is currently in the process of being created by Rose and Wonderbound director and choreographer Garrett Ammon, who will bring the gritty splendor of the Wild West alive on stage with simultaneous performances by the band and Wonderbound's dancer's.
