Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago Auditions

Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago is holding auditions for its 50th Anniversary Season. Auditions are being held on January 8 in New York City, and on March 18 in Chicago. Male and female dancers for the main company must be at least 22 years old and all dancers must have strong ballet and jazz technique.

Congratulations to the 25 exceptional students who received Beverly Miller dance scholarships! Costume Gallery distributed $13,000 to hard working dancers. This year's award process was more competitive than ever, as a record breaking 730 applications were received! Over the past 4 years Costume Gallery has awarded $45,000 to worthy students. Beverly Miller and her husband Norman, owned and operated Costume Gallery, serving the dance community for over 50 years.  The scholarship was established in Beverly’s honor.

Black Dance Festival this weekend

Australian Ballet Company Auditioning Dancers in New York

Dancing in Pink for a Cure

Yesterday, Sunday Oct 16, 115 women and 10 men at the ICI Center at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach danced the afternoon away to join the fight against breast cancer. The Party in Pink Zumbathon, led by 12 Zumba instructors, raised money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Former National Ballet director Alexander Grant dies

Alexander Grant, former artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada, died on Friday in London at age 86. It’s reported that Grant had been sick for several months with infections and pneumonia. Born in New Zealand, Grant was renowned as a character dancer with the Royal Ballet, London.
